Silva Studios Photography ("we", "us") is a photography business operated by Melyssa Silva in Las Vegas, Nevada. This page explains what personal information this website collects, why, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

What information do you collect?

Information you give us. When you fill in the contact form on this site, we collect your name, your email address, and the message you write. The form also has optional fields for your phone number, the session type you are interested in, and the date you have in mind. Nothing on the form is collected that you do not type in yourself.

If you email, call or text us directly, or message us on Instagram or Facebook, we hold whatever you send us in those conversations.

If you join our email list, we store the name and email address you give us so we can send occasional updates about sessions and availability. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: your IP address, the pages you look at, roughly where in the world you are, and what browser and device you used. This comes from two places — our hosting provider's server logs, and Google Analytics.

We also briefly hold the IP address of anyone who submits the contact form. It is used only to stop automated spam from flooding the form, is kept in temporary memory rather than a database, and is discarded shortly afterward.

Do you use cookies?

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits apart from new ones and to show us which pages people actually read. That is the only tracking on this site. There is no advertising pixel, no retargeting, and no cross-site tracking.

You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out browser add-on, and the site will work exactly the same.

Who else sees my information?

Only the services that make this site run:

• Vercel hosts the website and keeps standard server logs.
• Resend delivers contact form submissions to our inbox. Your message passes through their system on the way to us.
• Google Analytics receives the anonymous usage data described above.
• Pixieset hosts client galleries. If we deliver your gallery there, your name, email address and photographs are stored on their platform.
• Our email provider stores the address of anyone who joins the email list.

Each of these companies has its own privacy policy governing what it does with data it handles. We do not give your information to anyone else, and none of these services is paid to advertise to you.

We will disclose information if the law requires it — a subpoena, a court order, or a legal obligation we cannot refuse.

How long do you keep it?

Contact form messages and email conversations stay in our inbox indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them, because they are the record of what a client asked for and agreed to. Google Analytics data expires on Google's own retention schedule. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host. Client galleries stay live for the period stated when your gallery is delivered.

What can I ask you to do?

You can ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you,
• correct anything that is wrong,
• delete your information,
• remove you from the email list, or
• stop using your photographs publicly — see the Terms & Conditions for how that works.

Email silva.studios.lv@gmail.com and we will take care of it. If you are a Nevada resident, state law also gives you the right to tell us not to sell your personal information; we do not sell it to anyone, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you are welcome to put the request in writing anyway.

Photographs of children

Newborn, baby and family sessions mean we photograph children. We only ever photograph a child with a parent or legal guardian present and consenting, and we only publish those photographs under the terms described in the Terms & Conditions — which a parent can withdraw at any time by asking us in writing.

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 through it.

Is my information secure?

The site is served over HTTPS, so anything you send through the contact form is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we keep the amount of information we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection there is.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be noted here rather than made quietly.
